Part of the new College of Design, Engineering, and Commerce (DEC), the School of Business Administration at Philadelphia University invites applications and nominations for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position in Marketing. DEC brings together three PhilaU specialties and the majors within them. The College offers an innovative transdisciplinary program that provides students with the skills and knowledge to think creatively, brainstorm out-of-the-box ideas and work collaboratively to come up with innovations in products, services and experiences.
The newly created tenure-track Marketing position presents an extraordinary opportunity for the right individual to play an empowering role in helping the School’s marketing and marketing-based programs to achieve a unique focus on human-centered, design-based approaches to uncovering consumer needs and desires and, working in cross-disciplinary DEC teams, to creating and marketing products, services, and spaces to meet those needs. We envision a program at the nexus of consumer insight, market research, product development, and brand creation. The successful candidate will be an outstanding teacher-scholar-practitioner who can contribute significant thought leadership to this emerging program strategy.
Philadelphia University embraces the teacher-scholar-practitioner ideal; therefore, applicants should be dedicated to making contributions in each of these arenas. In keeping with PhilaU’s traditional focus on the professions, the school supports both traditional scholarship and creative scholarship that transcends traditional disciplinary boundaries. We seek candidates who want to work in a collaborative interdisciplinary environment, develop innovative learning experiences, support our students through the mentoring/advising process, and serve the university community.
At Philadelphia University, we are focused on innovation and on providing students with an academic experience that will give them a real competitive advantage. We are preparing students to be leaders at every level of their careers through our unique academic approach, Nexus Learning — active and collaborative learning that is connected to real world and infused with the liberal arts.
